Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we are asked most often before a retrofit. If yours is not answered here, send an enquiry and we will come back to you the same day.
Does fitting CarPlay void my manufacturer warranty?
No. Our kits use vehicle-specific plug-and-play looms that connect to the existing factory connectors. Nothing is cut, nothing is spliced, and no permanent modification is made to the vehicle. The installation is fully reversible, so the car can be returned to standard at any point — which is what protects the warranty position.
Is any wiring cut or spliced?
Never. Every loom we supply is designed for the specific car and plugs into the connectors already present behind the head unit. This is the single biggest difference between an OEM-style retrofit and a generic aftermarket install.
Can the installation be removed later?
Yes. Because nothing is cut, the kit can be unplugged and the original parts refitted, leaving no trace. Owners selling the car or returning a lease vehicle often do exactly this.
Do I keep my factory functions?
Yes. Original audio sources, reverse cameras, parking sensors and steering wheel controls all continue to work as they did from new. On the Mercedes SLS the COMAND system and reverse camera are both retained alongside the new touchscreen.
How long does fitting take?
Most installations are completed in a single visit. Time on site varies by vehicle, and we will give you a realistic window when we confirm the specification and price.
Do you come to me?
Yes — all fitting is mobile. We work at your home, office or storage facility. Most of our work is along the Leicester to London corridor, and we travel worldwide by arrangement.
What does travel cost?
UK travel is charged at 60p per mile calculated from Leicester, based on the total round trip. International visits are quoted and agreed in advance before anything is booked.
What warranty do I get?
All hardware carries an 18-month warranty. This is honoured whether we fit the kit or you install it yourself, provided the fitting form and photographs of the connections and mounting location are supplied at the time of installation.
Can I buy the kit and fit it myself?
On some vehicles, yes — the McLaren and Range Rover L322 kits are both available kit-only. The warranty still applies to self-installs as long as the fitting documentation is submitted. Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mercedes SLS installations are supply and fit only.
Which cars do you cover?
Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche and Mercedes-AMG, plus Range Rover L322 and Discovery 4. The full model list is on our vehicle compatibility page. If your car is not listed, ask — we develop new looms regularly.
How much does it cost?
Retrofits start at £499.99 and most supercar installations fall between £799 and £1,199 depending on model and whether fitting is included. Prices shown on product pages are starting points; send your model and year for an exact quote.
How do I get a quote?
Email us or use the enquiry form with the car’s make, model and year, and a photograph of the current head unit if you have one. We come back with the exact specification, a fixed price and a fitting slot.
