Ships worldwide, including the USA. Every kit is dispatched from Leicester with a fitting guide and remote support. Outside the UK, import duty and local taxes are payable on arrival and are not included in the price or shipping charge; this includes the USA, where the $800 duty-free allowance no longer applies.
Mobile fitting is available nationwide, and globally on request.
The 12C was the car that restarted McLaren as a road car maker and the part of it that has aged hardest is the IRIS infotainment. The 7-inch portrait touchscreen was slow when the car was new and it has not improved since. Our McLaren 12C Apple CarPlay retrofit puts wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto onto that original screen without changing anything you can see.
The loom is made for this car, whether it is badged 12C or MP4-12C. It plugs into the factory connectors behind the head unit, no wiring is cut or joined anywhere and if the car is ever to go back to standard it unplugs again with no sign it was fitted.
What changes and what stays
Navigation, music, calls and messages now come from your phone, which is the point: IRIS navigation was the weakest part of the car when new. The radio, the reversing camera and the steering-wheel controls are exactly as they were.
If your 12C does not have a reverse camera, an OEM camera can be added during the same visit. Tell us when you enquire.
Kit only or supply and fit
The kit is £799.99 with a fitting guide and remote support; supply and fit is £1,049.99 and we come to the car. The work calls for extensive disassembly and a sound understanding of the car's electrics, so we would recommend the second route unless your installer knows McLarens well.
Warranty and fitting
An 18-month hardware warranty covers everything we supply, honoured on self-installs and third-party fits provided the fitting form and photographs of the connections and mounting location reach us at installation. We fit at your home, office or storage facility anywhere in the UK, with travel at 60p per mile on the round trip from Leicester. International visits can be arranged and are quoted in advance.
