Ships worldwide, including the USA. Every kit is dispatched from Leicester with a fitting guide and remote support. Outside the UK, import duty and local taxes are payable on arrival and are not included in the price or shipping charge; this includes the USA, where the $800 duty-free allowance no longer applies.
Mobile fitting is available nationwide, and globally on request.
The 650S took the 12C's architecture and answered most of the complaints about it, but CarPlay was never among the things McLaren addressed. No 650S left Woking with it. Our McLaren 650S Apple CarPlay retrofit runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through the car's existing portrait IRIS 2 screen, on Coupe and Spider alike.
Behind the head unit sits a plug-and-play loom made for this car. It uses the factory connectors, leaves the factory wiring intact and lifts back out if the car is to be returned to standard when it is sold.
What changes and what stays
Maps, music, calls and messages are handled by your phone and shown on the centre screen. Your factory audio sources, the reversing camera and the steering-wheel controls all continue as before. On the Spider, the roof mechanism and its controls are not touched by the work.
An OEM reverse camera can be fitted at the same time if the car does not have one. Mention it when you get in touch.
Kit only or supply and fit
Kit only is £799.99, with a fitting guide and remote support; we ship from Leicester, UK-wide and worldwide. Supply and fit is £1,049.99, with the work done at the car. The centre console has to come out and the loom needs to be understood, so unless the installer is a McLaren specialist we would rather do it.
Warranty and fitting
Everything carries an 18-month hardware warranty. Where you or a third party fit the kit, send the fitting form and photographs of the connections and mounting location at installation and the warranty stands in full. We fit at your home, office or storage facility anywhere in the UK, travel charged at 60p per mile on the round trip from Leicester. If you are unsure of anything, a photograph of the screen and the year of the car is enough for us to confirm the kit.
