Ships worldwide, including the USA. Every kit is dispatched from Leicester with a fitting guide and remote support. Outside the UK, import duty and local taxes are payable on arrival and are not included in the price or shipping charge; this includes the USA, where the $800 duty-free allowance no longer applies.
Mobile fitting is available nationwide, and globally on request.
McLaren built 765 coupes and not one of them had CarPlay. The 765LT shares the 720S electrical architecture and its 8-inch portrait centre screen, so the McLaren 765LT Apple CarPlay retrofit is the same one we fit to a 720S. The car it goes into is rather rarer.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto run through the factory screen from a plug-and-play loom that meets the original connectors behind the head unit. Nothing is drilled and nothing is soldered into the factory wiring.
What changes and what stays the same
On a limited-run car the important point is what happens when the retrofit is taken out again. It leaves no trace. The loom unplugs, the factory connectors go back together and the car is as McLaren delivered it. If it is heading to auction one day, it can be returned to standard first.
While it is in, the factory audio sources, the reversing camera and the wheel controls all behave as normal and there is nothing visible to say the work has been done.
Kit only, or supply and fit
You can have the kit alone at £899.99, shipped from Leicester with a fitting guide and remote support, or supply and fit at £1,049.99. On a 765LT we would encourage the second. The head unit has to come out and we would prefer to be the ones doing it.
Warranty and fitting
An 18-month hardware warranty comes with every kit. Self-installs and third-party fits are covered too, provided we receive the fitting form and photographs of the connections and mounting location when the work is done. Fitting is mobile and UK-wide, at your home, office or storage facility; visits outside the UK are quoted and agreed beforehand. Send us the year and a photograph of the screen and we will confirm the kit.
